A Beginner’s guide to downloading with uTorrent

Easy step-by-step guide that will help you start downloading movies, music, TV shows, and more in no time at all with uTorrent.

For most people getting started with the whole “BitTorrent downloading thing” can be pretty intimidating. Sure maybe some of you had practice with Napster or KaZaA back in the day, but times have changed. Now it’s “trackers” and “clients,” and the list of new terminology goes on and on. So exactly how and where to begin can be a daunting and intimidating proposition.
So for those of you looking for an easy way to find the path to downloading enlightenment, I present to you an easy step-by-step guide to get you up and downloading in no time at all.
The first thing we need to do is download a BitTorrent client. This is the program that will do the actual downloading for you. There are many to choose from and each has their own positives and negatives, so it’s up to you decide which best suits your needs and PC capabilities.
Currently, the most popular client server program is uTorrent because it’s relatively simple, effective, and most importantly lightweight. It’s small memory footprint consumes only 6MB of memory. Click here to download uTorrent.
Now the guide below will take you through the uTorrent setup process and beyond.

INSTALLATION & SETUP

1. To begin, download and install uTorrent.
Now we need to configure it to work properly and at a maximized setting based on your PCs internet connection speed.
2. Select “Speed Guide” from the Options Menu as shown below.

3. Run a “Speed Test” and note your upload connection speed.

4. Select your the connection speed determined above in the drop down menu as shown.

5. Choose a port number between 49512 and 65535(the recommended range). Also, the selected port must be forwarded if operating behind a router. As you can see in the picture, I went ahead and used port 49789 and then TESTED it.

….this is the message you should then see in your browser

6. Lastly, it asks if you want to “Enable Encryption.” The reason for this is that many ISPs block or throttle BitTorrent connection speeds and this setting helps mask it.
To test if your ISP throttles BitTorrent traffic CLICK HERE.

7. Click “Use Selected Settings”

PREFERENCES

There’s a number of different features and options, but the only we’ll concern ourselves with is where you want your downloads to go. You’d be surprised at how many people have trouble locating where their downloads are at.
1. Select “Preferences” from the Options Menu.

2. Here simply enter the folder location for where you want your downloads to be put in.

That’s it. You’re finished. Congratulations.

So Where Do I Find Stuff to Download?

Check out our extensive list of BitTorrent tracker sites for the latest and greatest in download sites. Also, I suggest reading our story on Private versus Public Tracker Sites to get an idea of what to expect from each.

How Do I Download It?

First you need to find what’s called a BitTorrent tracker site, it’s a site which has the actual torrent files that allow users to connect with one another and share data (CLICK HERE FOR TERMINOLOGY).
In the picture below I use the LegalTorrents site since I show actual downloading and wish to of course comply with copyright laws. As shown I selected the download arrow in order to download the torrent file and thus the corresponding content.

The files should then appear in uTorrent and begin downloading.

For a more honest representation, here’s how it would look if you wanted to download content from The Pirate Bay, the world’s largest BitTorrent tracker site.
Using “Star Wars” as the search query, I selected a Star Wars e-Book to download.

Then simply select the file and then DOWNLOAD THIS TORRENT.

Hack ISP for free Internet using Wireshark

Most of us will be feeling that the surfing speed which is allocated by our ISP is not enough, sometimes it also happens that your account is expired and u want to surf for a time being or u use a limited account and wanna use for unlimited hours, so here's the way to practice it !!!

It is very much possible to do this works in a 99% Broadband services. With a bit of luck if your Cable Internet Service Provider are very uneducated on how this very new technology works, and its obvious that these Noobs don't even no and I assure they might be even unaware of such tricks.

At first all u need to do is just Google for a software called "Wireshark"

Wireshark, a really cool network analyzer and its amazingly  now even  compatible for Multi-platform: Runs on Windows, Linux, OS X, Solaris, FreeBSD, NetBSD, and many others

So Here the TUTORIAL starts

1. Open wireshark ,look at the menu bar u'll see capture, in capture dropdown menu u will see Options
click on it.

2.Now a new window will appear and then select your interface "Realtek" as in my case whichever is of your motherboard if u don't have any other interface then no tension it will appear by default.

3.After selecting  your interface click on Start , it will scan all the packets available in your network.

4.Now just click on the Protocol TAB to arrange in the ascending order with ARP on the first row , see the images as shown below and follow the next step.

5. After that look at any of  the ARP  IP Info which is in the format" who has X.X.X.X? Tell X.X.X.1" in the whole tutorial u should seriously notice that the IP i am using is ending with X.X.X.1 (Where X.X.X.X is your any IP shown by Wireshark , but as in my case u can clearly see its 172.131.18.109 )

6. Now u just need to put the IP in your LAN card , inside Properties IPv4 and followed by your DNS if u don't remember it then  u can also put the OPEN DNS

7. That's its done, now your are ready for browsing for an unlimited time duration,
if its not working with a single IP go for the next one but trust me it really works (at-most go for 4-5 attempts)

8. Remember the net may be available for a limited time depending upon your ISP traffic limits.

And u'll not believe if i say i used this technique for a complete year and was successfully browsing & downloading stuffs and  now also i do so occasionally when my account expires :p

Trust me this technique is really Trusted, Tested and Experienced by me!!!

And i assure u will not come across such post as we are the first person to publish it and we did so 'cause we still believe that

Steps to Speed Up Your Computer’s Performance

1. Make Sure Your Hardware is Sufficient

Above and beyond everything you can do with software to optimize the function of your computer, making sure you have the proper hardware to support Windows is critical.

2. Clean Your Desktop

Is your Windows Desktop dotted with files? Have you noticed that your computer has been running slower and slower? Do you see the hard drive light often flashing while you wait for the computer to respond to an action? There are steps you can take to fix it. Read this article.

3. Scan Your Windows System for Errors

An operating system is a collection of files that perform different functions. It is possible, over time, that one or more of these system files has changed or become corrupted. If this happens, the speed of your system may decrease. By using a utility called “System File Checking”, it will inspect these files and correct any problem it finds.

4. Scan for Viruses, Spyware and Adware

Every Windows computer is vulnerable to viruses. Viruses are nasty little programs that cause both major and minor problems for users.

Spyware and Adware are programs created by companies to find out more information about customers, so they can better market products to them. Usually these programs are not created for malicious purposes. Spyware and Adware can load into computer memory and slow it down.

Periodically scanning and removal of Viruses, Spyware and Adware is a great way to improve computer performance.

5. Uninstall Unused Programs

Over time, you may have accumulated programs on your computer that you do not use. When a program is installed, it creates connections between the program and the operating system. Even if you don’t use these programs, they can slow down your system. If you have the original program’s installation disk or file, removing programs will free up space on your computer and may speed up your system's performance.

6. Adjust Visual Effects for Better Performance

Windows provides a number of interesting visual effects including animated windows and fading menus. If you do not have enough operating memory (see above number 1), these effects can slow down your computer. Adjusting or reducing visual effects can make a difference.

To speed up Vista computers in particular you can disable features and function that are not used. For more information, read "How to Speed Up Windows Vista."

7. Don’t Automatically Start Programs

Programs use operating memory (RAM, also called system resources). Unless you always use these programs, you can keep them from loading at Windows startup and speed both the booting of your computer and its performance.

8. Defragment Your Hard Drive (After you have tried everything else)

The more information and programs you have on your computer, the more it is likely that Windows has placed parts of the same file in different locations on your hard drive. It may do this for hundreds of files and programs, depending on how much space is available. Defragmenting the hard drive places all information for each file in one place. The result can be a faster computer experience.

Important Note: Before you even try this, backup all your work onto a different computer, hard drive, CD or disk. Also, you should only do this if you have a reliable source of power for your computer. Doing this when there is a brown out or power problem in the neighborhood, is not a good idea. If a computer turns off while it is defragmenting a drive, it will create more problems than not defragmenting it in the first place.

9. Reinstall the Operating System and Programs

If you have done all the above steps and your computer does not become more responsive, you might consider reinstalling the operating system and programs. This is a scorched earth option - basically you backup all your data and user settings, wipe your hard drive clean and re-install the operating system with your original disks. Next, install all your favorite programs and restore all your data and user settings.

The nice thing about doing this is that you essentially have a new computer, free of years worth of software and registry changes, additions and errors that can turn a fast rabbit of a Windows computer into a slow turtle. The bad thing about this choice is that it takes time and planning to do it correctly. If your PC is 3 to 4 years old and continues to run slower than it did when you purchased it, this might be the only action that will make a significant difference.
